Innomake II
Tec-Innovation has been working since 2016 to combine the existing ultrasound technology with a self-developed camera system.
Modern image processing algorithms can not only detect obstacles but also identify them. Thus, it is also possible to actively guide you, for example to a pedestrian crossing, towards a traffic light or towards a set of stairs.
The user can configure, with the help of an app, which types of objects he should be notified about.
This project is being developed together with TU Graz, Styria, Institute of Computer Graphics and Vision.
Start of project: 2016
Pictures displaying the object detection and the walkable area identification.
By utilizing a camera a problem that often occurs in cities can be circumvented. Often crosswalks do not cross the street at a 90 degree angle, so that a blind person is at risk of accidentally leaving the crosswalk. A camera based detection scheme can warn the user against leaving the crosswalk laterally.
